Growth

I don’t have much to say about growth today other than that Meta ads work.

They’re not stupid simple like they used to be years ago when I started advertising on Facebook, but they still work. Especially for newsletters.

The ads for this newsletter (and the 1000s of other newsletters using Meta ads to grow) are proof of that.

I’m curious, are you running Meta ads for a newsletter right now?

If so, what’s working well and not so well for you?

Income

Still $0, but Sparkloop affiliate income should start tomorrow or Wednesday!

I’m hoping this will generate $0.50-$1.00 per new subscriber to help offset CAC.

Expenses

I upgraded to Beehiiv’s Scale plan for $31/mo today (usually $40/mo, but I found a discount code on Reddit).

I upgraded now instead of staying on their free plan in hopes of getting some early Ad Network deals. I doubt I’ll get any since I only have 15 subs (besides, they’d only generate like $2 in ad revenue anyway), but I figured I’d give it a shot. 🤷

Aside from that, I’m spending $5/day on Meta ads.

Next steps

Once affiliate income from Sparkloop starts coming in, I’ll increase ad spend so this newsletter grows faster. Perhaps to $20/day by the end of next week.
